Advent
Today is the first of Advent. And being a complete Christmass-oholic I had to celebrate this together with some friends and puppy buyers eating some traditional Swedish homemade Christmass ham on "julvört" and of course a lot of mulled wine with raisins and almonds. The kids had a gingerbread cookie party and were playing in Amandas room and all the dogs ran like maniacs around us. :) It was just the snow and maybe Santa himself that was missing! I wish you all had a just as nice 1st Advent.

Visit
Today we had a visit from the Tibblin family and their Smulan. I hadn't seen little Smulan since she moved out and since she stayed with us a few weeks longer than the other babies of the f-litter she became very special to me. And it was just wonderful to see her again! Her sister Alice seemed to think the very same and they played and played as they had never been apart. Smulan had turned into a dark little beauty queen and I was very glad to hear that I could show her some if I wanted! :) Unfortunately I had forgotten to charge the batteries to my camera but Smulans owners came better prepared and I have been promised copies of the pictures taken during the day!

Scary
Yesterday I was walking my Adam and Alice during luch break at work in Farsta Strand. Just as I had begun to head back two male dogs of larger mixed breeds showed up running loose... no owner in sight of course! To my luck three teenage boys were sitting near by. As one of these two dogs started circling around Adam (whom I had by then given a shorter lead) I called out for them asking if it was their dog. Well, of course it wasn't and still no owner in sight! But it did seem the boys noticed the seriousness of the situation and got up try chase the dogs away. A bit fun... as I have never seen teenage boys move that fast before! ;) However now the owner plus two showed up and I called for them to get their dogs. You think they did??? Of course not. They didn't even bother to call for the dogs or to hurry or rush. Instead the dogs turned back on us and ran towards me and my dogs again, this time much more targeted. One of them heading for baby Alice who screamed and tried to get away and the other one for Adam. That dog jumped up on Adam and tried biting him over his back. It was then I got really scared. In milliseconds I saw before me in my mind Adam all bloody and severely bitten. I screamed No, No, No and in some way managed to get my leg over Adam and in between them trying to kick that bastard dog of. Which I did manage but it ending with having that dog biting my thigh instead. The dog started circling again and I kicked and kicked after them. Still with Adam on a short lead and Alice on a longer one. And well NOW the owner woke up. But not to get hold of her dogs... No, no, no... She got CRAZY at me since I tried to kick away her dogs! Started screaming she would call the police and I replied that I would love her to. The one with the law on the right side was out of question me, both my dogs on a lead and controled and her dogs attacking mine and in the heat of it all even biting ME! Then somewhere in the middle of this another person (who I got the impression was the owners mom) tried to calm her down and acctually got control of the dogs.
By now I was so upset. Having two intact undisciplined uncontroled males running around loose like this is stupid, irresponsible and dangerous! And besides this person really though I was the "bad guy" in this!! Walking away from there I thanked the teenage boys for trying to help and as I got back to work I checked out my thigh and well it wasn't pretty and very sore. However my dogs were alright and I would rather be bitten my self and have irresponsible dog owner yell at me for defending my best friends every day of the week instead of seeing them injured!

Oval track
Pictures just arrived from Lotta and her Luna. Since some time now they've been training regulary at the oval track at Borås Greyhound Park and Luna just loooooooooves it! They have no intentions to compete but this is now Lunas absolute favourite waste of time! Go for it! :)

Dog security guard training
I must say I really do like these unexpected pictures and the report I got yesterday from Jenny. Determined to try something different she took her young Julia to meet with Richard Jansson to try start a very basic dog security training, in other words just kind of playing a controled form of tug-o-war. And despite the fact that Julia must be considered kind of an under-dog due to her breed, they were all impressed of this little one as she showed proof of both drive and working ability.
Need I say that I am too!!? Besides.. I thinks she's GORGEOUS in her pink harness! ;)

Celebrating 10 year as a kennel
This last Saturday a few hours after the Specialty at Lövudden we got together with some of our puppy people and friends to have a really lovely evening celebrating Faouziah's 10th year anniversary. I would say the whole weekend became a nice get-together but this particular evening was very special to me, as it was so much fun to be able to mingle without the stress and pressure of an on-going dogshow. Even though it was also a true pleasure to see so many puppy buyers at the specialty who very selldom or never show, proudly showing of their babies! But as Tanja so well put it on Sunday morning... "it was a long time since we laughed as much together as we did on Saturday evening", well let me inform you all that topics spanning from that odd blinking dot from our childhoods TV frame telling you there's another show starting at the sister channel to stories about completely insane dog show trips we've made were attended. :)) And yes..., we all had quiet a few glasses of wine. Thank you all for such a great evening and weekend too and thank you so Lotta Sundberg for your gift!

Another Birthday celebration
...this one a little bit belated since I've spent some time in the country being lazy instead of updating the homepage as I should! Still the ever best of birthday I hope all the babies of the D-litter (out of our Vera and sire by Ch Farao Anubis Ikaros) got as they turned 4 years old on July 14. Hopefully they all got birthday cakes and maybe even a meaty bone each!

Wonderful news
In the search of finding Kes and her daughter new loving homes Mrs Marianne Felix at Van Oxymoron kennels in the Netherlands has put in more hard work and heart into this than what ever could be asked for. Thanks to hers and many others wonderful engagament both Kes and Avi has got new loving owners and their future is looking great. Thank you - from my heart - Marianne, so welcome Marijke van Ooijen with family and the best of luck to Kes and to Avi!

Happy Birthday Vera
Sweetheart Vera turned 11 years old today! I can't believe it's been so many years since she came to me as an 8 months old beauty. Without Vera the kennel would not be were it is today. She has given so much in the rings and even more as a brood bitch. But foremost she has trough the years been a wonderful family companion. We wish her many more happy years to come! Happy birthday Vera!

Great tragedy
In 2003 our c-litter was born. One of those babies was Kes who moved to live in the Netherlands. This past weekend Kessies owner sadly passed away and his beloved Kes and her daughter Avi was picked up by animal control and is currently placed at Zaanstreek Stichting As Dierencentrum a well reputed shelter in Zaandam. It's hard to find an easy solution to such a tragic and very dramatic situation but both the people at the dog shelter, the NVOW and many more are working so hard to help in finding a new home to Kes and her daughter. So many wonderful people has helped so far.., Thank you!

What a debut
I almost never update with results from unofficial/open puppy shows since I belive such to be practice only. But this weekend little Julia really decided to do her training properly! Shown at 2 different open puppy shows, one on Saturday at Gubbängsfältet and one on Sunday in Täby both just outside Stockholm, Jenny Nyströms baby Julia won Best Puppy In Show at both! Now that's good training! ;)

Happy Birthday e-litter
Lots and lots of hip hip hurrays to our beloved e-litter as they turn 3 years old today! This wonderful litter was our Junos - Ch Faouziah's Bastet - first, sired by Ch Siphra's King Of Hearts. It's hard to believe they are 3 years old all ready. Most likely they all got some nice treats and fun gifts today! :)

Happy Easter
I tried my very best to get together a beautifuly composed pic of a pup and some Easter decorations... Don't know what I was thinking... ;) Of course this turned out to be mission impossible and I gave up just about as Smulan decided to eat the big easter hen! Top Model
A few days ago we had a photographer at the pet store taking pictures of our customers dogs. And of course the staffs dogs got to act models too! We took a whole series of pics of my beautiful Adam and many were so cute. These two + one more that I now have framed at home are my favourites!

It's so hard to say good bye
We lost our angel yesterday. Sweet and always gentle Iris fell asleep forever in my arms. The pain and sorrow I feel is more than I can say, more than I can describe and more than I can bare. I feel so alone without her. Angel Iris had been old and tired for some time, supposed to turn 13 years in April, but I wished and wished for miracles... not wanting to let go. Loosing both Iris' son Staffan this summer and now Iris, is loosing more than I thought ever possible. My beautiful children, my highly loved companions, my souls, my friends, my babies... I wish you were here, still with me and that I would never have to say good bye. It's not fare! I LOVED you!

Great news for Anouk
Sweet Anouk came back to us for re-homeing in the begining of October and we have had her with us until just days before Christmass. By then she went home to one of our puppy buyers, namely Gunnel and her beauty Knuffe. Of course Anouk managed to charm them both and shortly after that Gunnel asked if Anouk could stay as a part of their family for good. This made us so happy and we know Anouk will be equally as spoiled silly as her half brother Knuffe. Gunnels new nick-name for Anouk is "the ballerina"! We truly wish you and your two kids all the best for the future Gunnel!
